This week’s Plane & Pilot You Can Buy This Plane Of The Week is a 1951 Cessna 170 that is outfitted for the backcountry from spinner to tailwheel with new paint and more. And though we don’t know it for a fact, we believe that it might be a stealth plane. You might only find out for sure when ATC has you in radar contact! or maybe not. The price seems pretty good to us, too.

The plane, offered on Trade-a-Plane.com by Stuart, Florida, dealer Scott MacDonald Aircraft Sales, looks ready to roll, with new paint and interior, a 45-hour SMOH Continental engine, TUNDRA tires, extra-stopping-power brakes and an Alaska Bush tailwheel.

The new paint is what attracted our attention initially. It’s done up in flat black (or super dark camo-level green), which is great for sneaking up on unsuspecting bear,s but not so good for getting found by CAP if you get stuck in the wilds.

And the asking price, $49,000, for a super-low time 170 with so many upgrades and such a low-time engine seems like a pretty great deal to us. Check out the ad on Trade-a-Plane.com.
