AirVenture 2017 was a highly attended event, with various parking and camping areas, such as Vintage parking and North Forty, quickly filling up.
The show celebrated significant anniversaries, including the 80th for Piper Aircraft's iconic Cub and the 75th for the Doolittle Raid, featuring corresponding aircraft displays like numerous J-3 Cubs and B-25 bombers.
A wide variety of aircraft were on display, ranging from vintage planes and warbirds (e.g., TBM, A-20G Havoc, P-51D Mustang) to homebuilts (Van's RVs), corporate jets, and aerobatic aircraft.
Notable attractions included a Boeing B-52, the Blue Origin New Shepard space vehicle, the CAF B-29 FIFI, and the inaugural appearance of the B-29 "Doc."
