In 1947, the Texas Engineering and Manufacturing Co. bought all tooling, patents, and manufacturing rights for the two-seat all-metal Globe Swift from the Globe Aircraft Corp. Before Globe had gone bankrupt, Temco had been building Swifts under a subcontract. After Globe collapsed, Temco continued to produce the Swift under its own name. Taking to the air for the first time in 1945, the Swift was originally powered by an 85-hp Continental. The later model Swift produced by Temco utilized a 125-hp Continental engine and was built from 1947 to 1951, when production ceased.
