SmartAnchor Tie-Down System
This SmartAnchor tie-down system provides a reliable way to secure an airplane on a grass strip or in a backwoods area. The system depends on three large pins and an anchor with a swivel component that allows for both vertical pull and pull at a 45-degree angle. Each anchor is secured by three high-carbon steel spikes measuring a foot in length and â inches in diameter. The tip of the anchor sits just one-inch above the ground, reducing the likelihood of tripping for those maneuvering around it.
The SmartAnchor kit comes with a total of three steel alloy casting anchors, nine spikes, one 16-ounce hammer, three 10-foot-long diamond braid nylon ropes and a black carrying case for the materials. In total, the entire package weighs 8 pounds and is priced at $74.95.
