FAA Certifies Stratus Transponder

Appareo’s new panel-mounted 1090 ES transponder has been given the green light by the FAA for TSO installation. The unit is compliant with the FAA’s 2020 mandate for ADS-B.

The 1090 ES transponder provides ADS-B Out and built-in WAAS GPS. With the included GPS antenna, the Stratus ESG goes for the very competitive price of $2,995, not including installation.

The transponder is now available in two options—the Stratus ESG and Stratus ESGi ($3,495 MSRP). The ESGi kit includes the certified transponder and a non-certified ADS-B In receiver designed to work with the Stratus ESG only. When connected to the Stratus ESG, the Stratus 2i receiver provides the benefits of ADS-B and AHRS when integrated with ForeFlight Mobile.
