Alan and Dale Klapmeier, progenitors of the Cirrus SR20 and SR22 certified aircraft, offered a kit aircraft in 1987 called the VK30. The five-seater was powered by a 300-hp Continental pusher engine and had a cruise speed of over 200 mph. The Klapmeiers sold the rights to an Israeli company with intentions to certify the design, but the plan never moved forward. The kit is no longer available and only 5 models were ever built
