All-new planes added to the Cessna twin-engine lineup for 1977 were the Titan Ambassador, Titan Courier, and Freighter. All were designed to carry big loads with exceptional fuel efficiency. Courier versions provide high-density seating that can be removed to allow room for cargo. Operators can choose the combination of seats and cargo space that suits their missions. The Ambassador executive versions of the Titan have luxurious interiors with room to work en route. The cabin volume of the Titan is 316 cu. ft., and its length is nearly 19 feet with 14 feet behind the crew. Optional double doors allow for the loading of “D” size shipping containers and other oversized bundles. With a useful load of more than 3,500 pounds, the Ambassador can carry combinations of people (10 maximum), cargo, and fuel up to 2,040 pounds. A bonded wet wing holds 340 gallons of usable fuel. At 10,000 feet, 65% power, and peak exhaust gas temperature, the Titan Courier can carry up to 2,500 pounds of cargo 802 miles at 207 mph. With 2,000 pounds of passengers and baggage it will travel 1,308 miles at 208 mph. An optional propeller synchrophaser in recent models incorporates identical governors to eliminate the slaved combination used on previous systems. One significant change for 1981 was an extension of TBO time to 1,600 hours. The extension applied to engines on newer Titans and also to those previously manufactured.
