The BD-4 was designed to be built by homebuilders who have only simple shop tools and no previous experience; however, the finished product is a high-performance, low-cost, all-metal aircraft capable of carrying two to four persons. Only the wings are constructed of fiberglass. The BD-4 can use any Lycoming engine from 108 to 200 hp. It is a high-wing enclosed-cabin design.
