Gemini Sparkle

Key Takeaways:

Jeppesen has introduced three new data bundle services that combine access across GA avionics (including Garmin and Avidyne) and popular mobile apps. The bundles will be offered to pilots at a reduced cost, with key coverage areas included and the choice of two- or four-device installations.

The data bundles include unique full Americas (North, Central and South America) coverage that eliminate the need for trip kits.

For the Garmin GTN or GNS/W navigator avionics and Garmin Pilot, coverage areas include USA, Canada/Alaska and full Americas with a single installation chart subscription, providing avionics and mobile app access. Prices range from $440 to $745, based on avionics configuration and geographical coverage.

For PilotPak for Garmin GTN (G500/600, G300, G3X), Garmin 1000 and Garmin 2000, there are two device installation options, instead of the traditional four, to provide significant cost savings. Coverage options include USA, Canada/Alaska and full Americas. Full USA coverage for two-device installation is $990 annually (compared to $1,466 for four-device installation).

The FLEX Bundle is a service comprised of qualified combinations of avionics from different manufacturers that are configured in a single aircraft. Full Americas coverage is available, at $1,445. The bundle is scheduled for January 1, 2017 availability.
