One Design was designed by Dan Rihn to develop a single class of affordable acrobatic competition for the sportsman pilot. The development of such a class would allow pilots to compete in a more controlled environment thus virtually eliminating the “have and the have nots” that seem to have infiltrated all competitions. This class will bring aerobatic competition back to the pilot’s ability to perform well by providing a very capable aircraft within which to perform—and in the same aircraft type. Construction is standard mixed with steel-tube fuselage, wood wing, all fabric covered, with aluminum forward of the cockpit and fiberglass to cowl the engine. Since that time, Aircraft Spruce & Specialty has expanded the kit projects it represents to include the Acroduster, Acrolite, Acrosport, Barracuda, Breezy, Christavia, Cozy, GP4 and Osprey, Cozy, KR, Prober, Skybolt, Sonex, Starduster, Volksplane and Wittman.
