Big Crowds, Smiling Legends, and Ladies Singing and Slinging Wrenches

After dodging a terrible storm on Wednesday night, the grounds are a little short of airplanes (until tomorrow, we're betting) but they are bursting with joy, airplane noise and awesome planes.

Crowds at the show before the storm threatened were substantial. By shortly after 5 pm, when EAA closed everything down, the place became a ghost town.

We still miss the old brick tower at Wittman Field, but we are starting to get used to this new one, especially on days when there are lots of airplanes to serve as backdrop.
