In 1948, the four-place, 165-hp Luscombe Silvaire II-A Sedan was introduced and then discontinued the following year. The II-A was essentially a four-seat redevelopment of Luscombe's Model 8 with a deeper fuselage. Constructed of all-metal, the Sedan can be used to carry cargo. The rear seats are removable, and tie down straps are provided to hold a maximum 600 pounds of cargo in place. The Sedan was manufactured in only limited numbers both under Luscombe and Temco Aircraft Corp., the company that purchased Luscombe in 1948.
