Looking For An Airline Job?
The Boeing 2017 Pilot & Technician Outlook suggests some interesting trends for the future
Boeing Global Services has released its eighth annual Pilot & Technician Outlook. The Outlook is an industry study which forecasts the expected number of airline pilots, technicians, and air crew needed globally in the next 20 years. This year, the numbers are staggering. The company expects that the world is going to need 637,000 more commercial airline pilots by 2036. That boils down to 31,750 new pilots needed each year.
With that kind of increasing worldwide demand for pilots in the years to come, Boeing is emphasizing the need for educational outreach and career pipeline programs, with a focus on developing student interest earlier and finding pathways to access more diverse demographics. In addition, the company believes that innovative, adaptive solutions will be needed as the industry deals with the training requirements for so many new pilots.
Commercial airlines will also be looking for over 648,000 maintenance technicians and 839,000 cabin crew members in the next twenty years, according to the 2017 Outlook.
