The CASA Commuter is a product of Construcciones Aeronauticas, S.A. of Spain. It has been in service with several European and African airlines as well as the Spanish Air Force and is used by certain commuter airlines in the United States. The airplane's high-lift wing and 908 shp Garrett-AiResearch TPE331 turboprop engines allowed it to operate from unimproved 2,000-foot strips, yet the airplane can carry up to 28 passengers and a crew of two on stage lengths of 320 nm and cruise at 210 knots. Alternatively, the utilitarian CASA 200 may be converted to an all-cargo configuration that provides room for a small car plus other freight. The generous cabin dimensions allow a comfortable seating arrangement for passengers, and its height permits full stand-up headroom. The high wing design provides ample viewing for all 28 passengers.
