After its merger with McDonnell Douglas 1997, Boeing retained the MD-80/90/95 product line as the Boeing 717. The aircraft was designed for high-cycle, short haul regional airline applications and received FAA certification in September 1999. Variants of the B717 include the 80-seat 717-100, the stretched 717-200, and the 120-seat 717-300. All models feature the Honeywell six-screen EFIS flightdeck.
