AMERICAN EAGLE

The American Eagle Aircraft Corporation was established in 1925. Its president was E.E. Porterfield, who later founded the Porterfield Aircraft Corp. The American Eagle open-cockpit, three-seat biplane was powered by a 90-hp, water-cooled Curtiss engine; its radiator was fitted under the fuselage and featured adjustable shutters. A later model of the biplane was powered by a 100-hp Kinner five-cylinder aircooled radial engine. The three occupants are seated with one in the rear seat and two side-by-side in the front seat. Its construction made use of wooden wings and a steel-tube fuselage. It originally sold for $2,995.
