This composite 7- to 10-seater has as much as 3,000 pounds of useful load. Powered by a Walter M601D turbine engine, the big experimental-category single can cruise at 200 mph without breaking a sweat. Because of the power-to-weight ratio, the 10XL can hop off the ground in just a few hundred feet and climb at 1,500-2,000 fpm. An even larger Comp Air 12 is already flying.
