SOCATA (Societe de Construction d'Avions de Tourisme et d'Affaires), a subsidiary of Aerospatiale, had reintroduced its Rallye line of airplanes to the American market. In 1963, development of the Rallye series was taken over by S.E.E.M.S. (Societe d'Exploitation des Establissements Morane-Saulnier). This company was soon taken over by G.E.M.S. (Gerance des Establissements Morane-Saulnier), which was controlled by Sud-Aviation, and Sud-Aviation ultimately became Aerospatiale and formed the SOCATA subsidiary to produce the Rallye. Then in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Waco Aircraft Co., a subsidiary of Allied Aero Industries, produced and marketed the Rallye Commodore (220hp Franklin) in the United States as the Waco Minerva. After 1971, Waco discontinued its involvement.

The entire Rallye line consists of 12 models:
• 100S (Sport) has a 100-hp Rolls-Royce Continental, two seats, and is cleared for spins.
• 100T (Tourisme) has the same Rolls-Royce engine and three to four seats.
• 100ST can be operated as a two-seater cleared for spins or a four-seater not cleared for spins.
• 150CT has a 150-hp Lycoming and improved design.
• 150T is similar to the 100T except for its 150-hp Lycoming.
• 150ST is a high-performance version for flying clubs.
• 180CT has a 180-hp Lycoming and constantspeed prop.
• 180T is specialized for towing.
• 235CT has seating for four and a 235-hp Lycoming. 235CA is an agricultural version.
• 235C is a taildragger.
• 235G is a military variant.
Only the 150ST, 18OCT, and 235CT were marketed in the United States.

All Rallyes have full STOL capabilities as a result of full-span automatic anti-stall leading-edge slats plus slotted Fowler flaps and generously sized control surfaces. The 150 is one of the few trainers with seats for four, and all Rallyes feature sliding canopies for easy entrance. Both the 180 and 235 have larger airframes, a strengthened structure, wheel fairings, more prop clearance, larger rudder and ailerons, modified cockpit canopy, and larger baggage compartment.
